“Despite being a huge fan of Halo: Combat Evolved, I have never been a fan of Halo 2. I bought it on release day way back in 2004, played through it once, and it just didn’t click with me. I went into Halo 2: Anniversary with a more open mindset, but it did little to improve my opinion on the game. The interior environments felt very same-y and uninteresting, the exterior environments were somewhat better but felt more cramped than the ones in Halo CE, and every mission seemed to drag on for longer than necessary. The game's story was decent at least, but the underwhelming final boss and cliffhanger ending were huge disappointments. At least the new cutscenes looked good, the improved graphics were appreciated and having the ability to switch between new and original graphics with the press of a button was an awesome feature that I wish more remasters had.”
