Ori and the Will of the Wisps

“I played through Ori and the Will of the Wisps right after finishing Ori and the Blind Forest, and it was immediately apparent that the sequel was the stronger of the two games. It improved on all aspects of the original’s formula: the graphics were a huge leap forward, the combat was greatly improved (though still not as good as other games in the genre), and the addition of the new perk system was appreciated. This game was also loaded with side-quest bearing NPCs, which brought more life to the world, but I don’t know if they really added all that much to the overall experience. All that said, I feel it was a middling experience. I still enjoyed it, but it didn’t feel like anything revolutionary to me, just a good, standard, run of the mill Metroidvania.”
