“My highest rated game so far, played this three times now and always fun, Combat is great and story is amazing I recorded my time for my most recent new playthorugh and althought I could have gone for the 100% again, like on my other account. I felt when I noticed the 33 hours played was just the right time to stop haha”

“Start to finish, this game hits its marks. Well deserved game of the year and all the awards received. Love the game play, story moved me and the mechanics are flawless. Enjoyed every moment well into the extensive post story game and new game plus. Easy recommendation x”

“I think all the hype around the game and it's being a winner of every "game of the year" title known to man pushed some people from actually playing it. For those people who might reading it - just try it. It has a bit of a slow start but just give it a couple of hours and you probably won't sleep this night. It has an amazing story with very likable characters. The overall vibe of this game is something else - the visuals, the music, world design, etc. Everything you'll see is just out of this world beautiful. It can be serious, it can be stupidly silly. It's a lifetime breathtaking journey with absolutely devastating answers for all the questions the characters and you, hopefully, will ask. I was super sceptical as hell when I tried it but after almost 200 hours of exploring, enjoying, swearing and crying I'm standing before final boss and I can't go there because my journey will be over. The game has it's flaws, sure. Expedition doesn't explain it's gear/perks system well enough so I've beat 1/3 of the game without using any pictos and with whole bunch of lumina points. The parrying/dodging can suck ass sometimes cuz you don't understand the timing of it. 10 hours later I've realised the audio cues exists and fights became so much easier. The exploration routes aren't very balancing cuz sometimes you find a boss that will oneshot your whole party but after one story mission you already out-leveled the hell out of it. The lack of mini-map is uncomfortable. But it's all negligible. If you just wanna expirience the story and the world - switch to easy mode and breeze through without much hustle. This is the game that deserves every bit of praise it got. Every single one. It's very personal and emotional story wrapped in world building masterclass. It is a masterpiece and it's a hill that I'll die on.”

“People loved this game, I enjoyed it for the most part - the story, music and character building is next level. But I bounced off of the combat side of things. However, this is subjective and is still something I recommend anyone to play.”

“For those who come after: One of the best games to release in 2025! This game is extremely easy to spoil, so I’ll keep my review vague as going into it blind is by far the best way to experience it. Expedition 33 manages to make turn based combat engaging with quick time events during your attacks, allows for dodging, and Maelle’s favorite, parrying. Top it all off with one of the most incredible and creative stories I’ve seen come from any game in a long time. Do yourself a favor and give Expedition 33 a shot.”
